Information on the antidepressant Wellbutrin Side effects Although Wellburtin no longer marks some of the other antidepressants in that it does not cause sexual dysfunction or weight gain, one must understand that the drug is not without its own effects reactions. Many of them are common with other antidepressants, so some may be unique to Wellburtin only. In the next section of the article we will discuss some of the side effects of Wellburtin. However, although the list is fairly comprehensive, it is not complete. So there will be some side effects of drugs that we can not mention in the limited scope that we have here. Some common side effects of Wellburtin which were widely reported by a large proportion of patients who were prescribed the drug. These include dry mouth, insomnia, excessive sweating, tremors, nausea and tinnitus. Some of these side effects may also result in the termination of treatment with the drug, with the largest number of treatments being discontinued after patients complained of rashes and nausea. One of the major controversies regarding antidepressant Wellbutrin was its effects on seizures and there was a debate continues on whether the use of the drug increased the risk of seizures. In fact, it was mainly because of the infamy Wellburtin to provoke crises it has been withdrawn from the market. But later studies have revealed two things about Wellburtin. Firstly, the risk of crises to take Wellburtin was the same as taking other antidepressants. Second, the possibility of a seizure induced by Wellburtin was largely dependent on the type of assay that has been prescribed. So, if the dosage is limited to anything between 100 mg and 300 mg, then the possibility of seizure was limited to a low 0.1%, fell within the dose 300mg to 450 mg, the risk of seizure s' raises to 0.4%, but if the dose was increased to 600 mg, the rate of seizures jumped 2%. Thus, the dose is very important if one considers the risk of Wellburtin induced seizures. Another cause of concern using Wellbutrin is its effect on patients with cardiac disease. Again, the effects are closely related to the nature of the dose administered. Patients with or without heart disease, when administered at a dose Wellburtin 400-500mg per day, showed signs of elevated blood pressure. But there was no change in pulse rate. However, patients who were administered 300mg dosage below showed no noticeable changes in blood pressure. But perhaps the most serious side effect of Wellburtin is its effect on children and adolescents. Studies have shown that most antidepressants increase the rate of suicide among children and adolescents. Wellburtin is no different. Thus, when the drug is prescribed for a child or young person, the behavior of the individual must always be followed to prevent such adverse effects do not manifest itself in the worst way possible. It should be noted that Wellburtin is not the only antidepressant that causes such side effects.
