Canine Hair Loss

Canine Hair LossCan thyroid problems that cause canine hair loss be treated with something in the pet store?

I have a pretty Peekapoo, which has lost much of her hair and has had patches of skin, laboratory screening of fungi and bacteria from blood ... The thyroid is looking like a possible cause, but since I hit the max on my credit card with vet bills, I was hoping there was something Economic / OTC to avoid training. I love my dog and I want her to be healthy. :)

OK, it looks like you did much work for your puppy. I do not know much about thyroid issues, but I know a lot about dogs, dog coats, and the loss of dog hair. I see you've done a lot of testing for your dog, but mostly it can be something as simple as your dog food that causes hair loss, your veterinarian may have over looked that. What brand do you feed your dog? The reason I ask is because most dogs are allergic to corn, but most dog foods have some form of corn in the first three ingredients, check your food and see if it does . causing some serious problems with the skin of your dog. Want to watch a food with NO corn. I recommend a brand called "recipe of nature" in the sensitive skin formula is in the recipe for venison or vegetarian. Although this is not the cause of hair loss. You want to do everything possible to remedy. OK, here's something important. You can not switch the dogs food, you need to gradually make it a switch or throw their body out of wack even more. Slowly start adding some new foods into their old until you have a new district, then fifty percent of new, then aged sixty five years, and so on. There will be some months before you notice a difference. do not freak after one week if you do not see the difference.
by the way, your dog is a puppy or an adult?
also, another suggestion would be to bath her in oatmeal shampoo hypoallergenic. even a shampoo tearless puppy, make sure it has absolutely no fragrance or dyes, which further irritate the skin, but the oatmeal to help moisturize. Most veterinarians are very special shampoos they prescribe, and you can just go ahead and put your groomer.
Whew ok it was a lot to cover. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions let me know.
