I have problems with dizziness after taking Diovan. What is this report as a side effect? I can not walk but a few steps without stopping because of dizziness to keep something. I think the Diovan is the origin of the vertigo.
Nervous system side effects were dose related and were the most common reasons for discontinuation. Headaches and dizziness were reported in 8% to 10% and 3% to 14% of patients, respectively, depending on the dose. Dose-related effects of orthostatic dizziness were observed in 8% of patients receiving 320 mg compared with 2% -4% of patients who received 10-60 mg. Other side effects include dizziness associated with less than 1% of patients.
I think the amount of dizziness and instability that you meet that you have to go back and talk to your doctor. Sometimes vertigo may be transient and disappear as soon as you get used to the drug - but in other cases, this side effect can cause long term problems for your safety. Talk to your doctor.
