I read that cocaine is a breakdown product of nicotine. Does this affect my hair follicle drug test if I smoked cigarettes recently? I guess my question is directly ... Do cigarettes cause my hair follicle test positive for cocaine come back because it is similar fault?

I do not know where you read it, but as far as I know, cotinine is a breakdown product of cocaine and not nicotine. Nicotine and cocaine are derived from two different plants.

Hair testing is quite true that you do not need to worry about a false positive.
