Home remedy for bacterial infection in the ears? My two dogs have ear infections and bacterial I'm almost out of their ear drops. I need a home remedy to relieve itching my dogs face. I hope Somone else out there has had this going on with their dog before.
1 cup cider vinegar from Apple (healing agent)
1 part rubbing alcohol (a drying agent)
1 part water (dilution)
It burns things, but it works. Fill ear canal with the mixture and massage the base of the ear to loosen any debris that may have accumlated there. After the massage allows dog to shake his head. Apply again in the same way and allow dog shaking her head. Clean what you can do with a paper towel or Q-tip or cotton ball.
Apply 2-3 times daily.
This recipe was given to me by a veterinarian who has practiced alternative medicine.
I have a chow who has chronic ear infections in one ear X. Vet. drugs. did not help. I use this mixture as a general cleaner ear on all my dogs and cats.
I think the antibiotics are needed if the state of infection! If you're just worried about the itching for the moment, you can use an antihistamine. Benadril great works, but give them a child dose (oral liquid)! It will make them sleep and they should stop scratching or rubbing the ears. Please make sure they are on antibiotics as I believe that the infection will not go away without them! Antihistamines will stop the itching. Good luck and give a big hug hem me!
There are no home remedies safe to use .. you should contact your veterinarian and let them know it has not yet clarified .. they will give you appropriate medication for the problem.
Self medicating can cause much more harm than good!
I HAVE, but it is important for professional training!
