Does anyone out there have an allergy to lidocaine? Yuya have been tested and what is the test like? I had injections of lidocaine once a week for over two months and each time I had a reaction to it and it got worse each time. I knew something was wrong, but the doctor said, "you can not be allergic to lidocaine" I am very sick after all injections and were tested for all sorts of things. My doctor told me that if I had an allergic reaction it could take weeks or months for him to get out of my system. I feel better now and it has been three weeks since the last. I also now seem be allergic to so many things, it's crazy ... I'm curious what the test is like since I'm going next week to be tested.
Thank you for your answers
I can only comment on allergy to lidocaine part ..
Your doctor is correct. You can not be allergic to lidocaine, but you can, and some people were found to be allergic to the preservative in the lidocaine.
There are methods of testing there but I think they are generally made for those who develop full blown anaphylactic reaction to it.
As your doc to check the bottle for next time preservatives and using a preservative-free lidocaine, the next time you go in.
My heart rate went from 60 to 160 after receiving licodaine. I was told the urgency that I should never again be given lidocaine and add it to my list of allergies (not many). An allergy test me one month later and said yes I am allergic to this need and to avoid it. U can have this allergy. Report Abuse
