30 years ago they had a prescription for colic, the color pink. Everyone knows what it was? I need it for my son? My mother managed to get a prescription for colic 30 years ago, she can not remember what it was, but she swears by it. I had colic EXTREME. I asked the doctors, they have no idea what was given to my mother. It was pink clearish, could be anti-gas medicine for all I know. My daughter had colic, she is older, but my son has now. Any help would be appreciated. And I do not want to hear more beautiful baby on the book of prints, because I had tried everything w / my daughter and now his son, as my mother tried everything to me w /.
Everything I tried drugs wise (not wise emotional):
Gripe Water (which was given to me by a friend or a nurse)
Mylicon
Hyland Colic Tablets
Gripe Water w / ingredients completely different
Just need to know what would have been required 30 years ago. I'm not very familiar with drug treatments, music, etc., just need the name of the drug.
Thank you
The only thing I can get to the old prescription simethicone, which is the main ingredient in drops of gas today.
I bet I have something you have not tried ... and my daughter had the worst imaginable colic until I give him that. It is 100% natural and safe. Believe it or not, it Catnip (calms) and fennel (which aids digestion). My mother used it on my sister and me and his mother used it on her, and so on and so forth. I found mine here:

I put one or two drops in a bottle filled with water and a dash of white Karo syrup to make it soft. My daughter has slept through the night at two and a half months and I have not had a problem with it since.
Good luck to you!
rent theyac exactly what causes colic. Personally, I think it's several things that jhust together. Chances are your mom it was somethign for gas, because it was the prevailing theory goes then. Most of these products are available over the counter now, and you say you have already tried Mylecon. I think it was something other than gas if it did, t help. I wish I could offer something better but I know with my first he always helped just to have skin to skin contact. Just belly and shirtless to the naked child. Do not know why it worked for her, it was not a complete success, but certainly the best. Maybe it was just a comfort for them, Im not really sure.
My son had colic so bad, until he was diagnosed with Child and prescribed Zantac for reflux. This medicine has been a life saver. My son cries all the time and he never slept more than half an hour to an hour and wake up crying. He wept because of acid reflux up into the esophagus causing pain, just think how much heartburn hurts us. It is almost 7 months now and is weened Zantac.
You can try calling your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist the name of the drug.
Is a tough. Many things prescribed 30 years ago will certainly not be on the market longer. The only thing I can think is simethicone, but I'm sure that is what is Mylicon. Are you breastfeeding? It's a whole other story that babies fed formula. I breastfed and had to be very careful what I ate. My son was colicky and was prescribed a drug that relaxed his intestines to soothe her cramps, I "think" it was Levsin.
Thirty-seven years, my infant son has very bad colic and the doctor had to give Peragoric. It smelled of anise and I put the prescribed amount in the form of my son. It has helped my son and over time, he outgrew the colic. I do not know if this drug is still on the market or n.
