NetipotRaw Food Teachers sharing tips on the path to better health

This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni Renegade Roundtable, which is http://www.RenegadeRoundtable.com. In this excerpt, Angela Stokes share on finding or building a support group and to take steps today to begin the road to better health.

Renegade Water Secrets with Angela Stokes, raw Foodista, teachers and experts on weight loss raw food.

Kevin: You mentioned that finding a support group was important. Your family, you say, was full of obesity and not a group of healthy people that you could probably find support from. Where did you go for support?

Angela: In the beginning, the main thing that kept me going was potluck. It was about potlucks once a month and that really makes all the difference for me. Because, as I said, I was in the countryside in Iceland and I felt really isolated and just kind of crazy at times and then I would go to these potlucks and it would all these people earth and all that surprising, live food. I would like to see the creations of different people and this sense of community and it is not just me. This very pleasant feeling of there are other people who are on this path. And then of course everything that has been increasingly on the Internet both in recent years with raw food. Then I started getting more and more in this program and these days we have online communities such as eat.rawfood.com giveittomeraw.com wonderful and I really encourage people to come . If you can, meet people face to face in your community or if there is no potluck in your area to create one. Just put some signs around your area, saying: "Is anyone interested in eating more healthily" or one could even say "to eat raw food" or "vegetarian food" or anything. Or start a reading group around health books and build from there. You need not feel isolated or alone. This message is really spreading. It's what excites me, that is thinking about how he just held on expansion. When the infrastructure is not there, both in society for it to feel particularly easy to be a lot of raw Foodista time. But it's coming. It will be very exciting in the years to come, I think, to see what unfolds.

Kevin: Let's get a question like one of our listeners who's on line now, it essentially asks what is the best way to start in raw foods without shocking the system?

Angela: Yeah, I recommend people to start eating at least 50 percent raw, and preferably at least 50 percent of that to be cool, stuff first. So, not all dehydrated and packaged raw foods, but many new things. And from there and start building the percentage of materials that you can manage. And maybe at some point you become 100 percent raw and perhaps you do not. As this person stated in the question, it is very important not to disrupt the system. From what I've seen time and time again with people, so many people find food early on and they want to go 100 percent and they jump into the deep end and then they go into this great detoxification and you never seen again. They jump completely out of the car and that's all. And I feel really sad when I see this kind of thing. I would rather see people slowly, slowly build new habits into their lives. For me, it's a lifestyle. It is not going on some diet you go to leave at some point. This is not the mentality around my point of view.

So yes, slowly, work with the foods you already know that you love. Everyone has a sort of raw foods they already know they like. Maybe plums or maybe celery, whatever. And it's actually one of the steps that I guide people to do in "raw emotion" is to make a list of foods you Alre.
