How can I convince the doctor that I need a benzodiazepine sleep aid? I know that the most common sleep aids are provided for non-narcotic sleep such as Ambien and Lunesta AIDS because of their habit forming characteristics decreased, but I prefer the other type of pill. I am a collage student if my previous doctors thought I was just looking for a good recreational drug, but really he or she needs:)
If anyone has information on different classes of promoting sleep and the reasons for their prescription please answer!
Thank you very much:)
It is much more difficult to obtain a benzodiazepine for sleep because, as you mentioned, there are other non-addictive drugs on the market. In addition, benzodiazepines work differently Lunesta / Ambien and may actually worsen the quality of your sleep by delaying or interrupting REM sleep. If Ambien / Lunesta / etc are not here for, there are other classes of drugs that can be tested: drugss SSRI-type (mirtazapine, trazodone), histamine blockers (Benadryl, doxylamine succinate). If you're really determined to get a benzodiazepine, most sleeping pills are listed as temazepam (Restoril) and triazolam (Halcion). But as I said, there are many other options that you should try first before resorting to a benzodiazepine. Good luck ... and the more you try to convince the doctor in a specific drug, the more he / she does not want to prescribe.
Stay for two days, your eyes are bloodshot.
Then the doctor's visit:)
