My baby has a paralyzed vocal cord and can not make the slightest noise. Any suggestions on products to use in the night? I am looking for a product to use at night so I can know when my son was six weeks in motion, even though I can not hear. I want something that can go in the crib or something that can monitor and notify me when it moves so I can take care of him.
The only thing I can think of is that these toys, you can get when bubs starts to move, they play a song to help resettle the baby ... do not know where you can get
If you leave this question open for a little (a few days) I'll do some research and also ask my colleagues (I am a therapist so I have some contacts that might know something) and I'll get back to you
EDIT .... My understanding is that Angel Care monitor alerts you if the baby is not moving / breathing .... I had a similar screen so I guess they are even
EDIT ....
Sorry, I have not really been able to reach many. I researched the sport which I spoke, and I guess it's no surprise he is voice activated, if a bit unnecessary for you. The ideas of others, some colleagues came up with include:
*** After a kind of machine noise attached to bubs .... should be something safe and secured in a manner that could come loose and cause a danger to the studs ... something that squirms when bubs, it makes a noise .... the context of what could bubs move, but not really wake.
*** Co-sleeping as someone suggested .... either in bed or in an arm's reach cosleeper style.
*** Idea similar to the noise machine .... have something creaking under the sheet so that when bubs moves he makes a noise.
There are some products out there but they require intentional movements .... good for when bubs is a bit more but for now, he is unable to press a button intentionally.
I hope some help and I will continue to keep my ear to anything that might work in your situation .... Good luck!
The Angel Care monitor.
It is a device that is placed under the mattress, and warns you if the baby is moving or stops breathing.
Investing in an Angel Care monitor. They are not cheap, but in this situation, it would be the best thing for you.
Angel Care Monitor is a great device but it only allows to know if there is no movement for 20 seconds. You can get this over a monitor of the camera they most stores like Wal-Mart baby r us. May God bless you
Maybe you can try to contact other parents who have children with paralyzed vocal cords and see the techniques they used. I found this forum and there is a mom in there talking about his child. You could probably try emailing her.

Have you thought about a colleague to join your bunk bed (or seat next to yours), so that you do not arm's length away? It may be better. You might also consider sharing the bed if you've followed all safety protocols. Check www.mothering.com info on both. Good luck mom.
sausages poor, it is. can you make his bed in your room and you'll move here and stuff.
Angel Care monitor.
You can get them at Babies R Us
I hope he gets better.

The Angelcare probably will not work. "Alarm sounds after 20 seconds if no movement, even the slightest breathing movements, is detected."
However, there is an "option" Tick "to hear the baby's movements, but can get annoying since.
