Valtrex

I know Valtrex is to help prevent genital herpes, but nobody knows if it can help prevent cold sores on your lips???

I suffer really badly with cold sores and a friend suggested Valtrex, but I always thought is was only used for genital herepes?? nobody knows if it will help anyway??

Valtrex may be used to treat the two types of herpes. Cold sores are caused by oral herpes, the two types of herpes virus from the same herpes.
Valtrex may be used to treat cases of very bad cold sores too. You can try a cream on the counter at your pharmacy before you consider using Valtrex, if the creams do not help then consider using medications that drugs can cause some unpleasant side affects.

Valtrex may be used for HSV-1 or HSV-2. Valtrex is an antiviral drug. It slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus so that the body can not fight infection. You can use your Valtrex for HSV-1.
